Since 2021, our community has been besieged by a series of shootings, the most recent of which occurred inside a local business, contributing to an alarming pattern of violence.

An especially chilling incident, involving a bullet striking a stroller in the midst of a shooting, shook us to our core. This event sparked a united front among local business owners and community members, determined to tackle the growing tide of violence that endangers our community's tranquility. Our goal is not just to spread awareness but also to rejuvenate struggling local businesses by encouraging them to play a role in transformative change.

With a deep-seated commitment to protect our community, encompassing childcare facilities, senior centers, and young adults, we strive to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. Our alliance is made up of merchants and community stalwarts who have deep roots in Fruitvale, with many having called it home for 25-30 years or more. We are collectively committed to the thriving future of Fruitvale and the broader Oakland community.
